What to wear for your photography session. Links and inspiration from a New Hampshire Photographer.

Updated: Apr 7

When it comes to a photography session, the people / person in the photo will always be the main focus. Yes, all eyes on stunning YOU! It is completely natural to want to look your best, as it is something that you look forward to as soon as that date is booked! The biggest question that always comes into everyone's mind is: "what will I wear?" Especially us women! Well, here is some outfit recommendations that I would suggest wearing. From dresses, to shoes, and even for girls who don't like dresses, let's cover it all!

DRESSES FOR ANY STYLED SESSION from Amazon

These dresses were chosen due to the fact that they all have the ability to flow. Some more than others, but still, a little bit of movement in your photos goes a long way. Different dresses, of course will always look different on certain body types. I personally tend to go for a longer dress when having my photos taken. Here is some more great options:

Dresses from Altar'd state and Lulu's

However, senior sessions / graduation photos look great with a shorter dress! Especially ones with a detailed back to bring out some character. Add a cap and gown and you'll look picture perfect!

DRESSES FOR GRADUATION PHOTOS

While dresses are always what I recommend for photoshoots, not everyone wants to wear a dress. That's totally great too! Grab a cute pair of jeans and an adorable top and you'll look stunning! So, for the girls who don't wear a lot of dresses, here is some outfits I'd suggest for you!

Don't be afraid to add some accessories to any outfit! A cute necklace, heels, bracelets, a couple of fun braids in your hair! Do whatever works best for you! Here is some ideas for some cute shoes that would really make your outfit look put together.

SHOES THAT WOULD BE STUNNING from Amazon

Tips:

  • I always highly recommend getting your hair professionally done for any photo shoot. I personally highlight my hair, so I will purposely book with my hairstylist a day or two before my session to get that perfect blowout look! May as well use it to your advantage! Feeling good for your photos makes all the difference.

  • Bring a hairbrush. Even the healthiest of hair will still get tangled after running around in a field for an hour or so. Give your hair a few strokes, and your hair will be shining again!

  • Let me know ahead of time if there is anything you'd like photoshopped out. We've all woken up with a pimple before, and don't worry, it's literally the easiest thing to edit out!

Of course, you can ALWAYS reach out to me with any questions! I LOVE it when clients send me their outfit ideas! Last but not least, wear whatever makes you feel your best. It’s YOUR photos. These are simply some recommendations. I am so looking forward to our session together! Whether we've met before, or this is the first time, I'm so excited to capture YOU!

Much love,

Bri ;)
